Thanks to its spectacular location and setting, visitors to Baía Formosa can enjoy a very varied offer of attractive day trips and activities. Because of the wild and unspoilt nature of the area, all sorts of excursions and sports are a popular choice for visitors. At La Bonita, we will help all our guests to choose the program that best suits their tastes and interests.
We highly recommend a visit to the natural reserve of Mata da Estrela, on foot or on bicycle, ending the trip with a swim in the beautiful Araraquara lagoon, also known as the Coca-Cola lagoon. We also recommend tours by bicycle and on horseback, as well as boat trips where you can try your hand at various different type of fishing in the region.
No visitor to the region can go home without a buggy trip. Buggies are the best way of travelling across the unique landscape of the region and the best way to access its hidden areas.

TRADITIONAL BOAT TRIP
A trip in a Jangada, a traditional wooden fishing boat, which may be either a sailing boat or motor-powered. The trip lasts for about one hour. After leaving the port, the boat passes along the coast of Baía Formosa towards the Lighthouse of Bacopari; during the trip, with a bit of luck, you will be able to watch dolphins in their natural habitat, and you may also get to see Shu Shu, a well known local member of the protected and endangered manatee species.

ECOLOGICAL WALK IN RAIN FOREST + ARARAQUARA LAGOON
A walk through the rain forest of Mata Estrela, the largest reserve in the state of Mata Atlântica rain forest, which forms part of Unesco's list of the world's natural heritage. During the walk, you will be accompanied by a professional guide, who will provide you with detailed information about the local flora and fauna. In this wilderness area, there are 23 lagoons and an amazing variety of animal species, such as the medium-sized howling monkey.
The most famous lagoon is the extraordinarly beautiful Lagoa Araraquara. Because of its striking colour, this lagoon is often called Lagoa Coca-Cola.

SAILING BOAT EXCURSION IN BARRA DO CUNHAÚ
This sailing trip lasts for about two hours, including a stop for a swim and a closer look at the typical restinga areas of vegetation along the coast, with detailed information about this unique ecosystem.
Another option is to rent kite surfing equipment and make the most of one of the best locations in the state for the sport. In 2010, Barra do Cunhaú hosted one of the rounds of the Brazilian professional kite surfing championship.
The boat has a bar service, shower, and bathroom.
